Lost Horizon
This 1937 movie, based on James Hilton's book, is one of my favorites that I encourage my clients to watch. The theme is how five people wander into an idyllic valley in the Himalayas called Shangri-La, where time stands still and eternal peace exists. Each of the five individuals has the opportunity to react or respond to the new circumstances. The movie is about hope, faith, and trust.
Phenomenon
This feel good movie features John Travolta as George Malley, an average, small town guy who suddenly becomes incredibly intelligent. His growing awareness of energy allows him to move objects with his mind and offer insights into human potential. The film explores how people react or respond to the idea that they could be and think like George.
Abundance through Reiki
This book by Paula Hogan addresses longtime practitioners of Reiki as well as any individuals interested in manifesting more abundance in their lives. The book includes two 21-day plans (one for identifying concepts of lack and the other for getting into the flow of abundance). I often recommend this book to my clients, because so many come to coaching with a desire for easier finances.
Glow
This is a fun introduction to a macrobiotic lifestyle and the energy of food. Written by Christina Pirello, the book includes information on how your face explains what's happening in your body, what your hands say about your life, and how eating more balanced food can change your looks. I've tried a number of macrobiotic cookbooks, and Christina's recipes stand above most as incredibly tasty AND nutritious.
Green for Life
This book by raw food leader Victoria Boutenko includes a fascinating study showing how the consumption of smoothies made from water, fruit and greens can normalize stomach acid, thereby helping digestion. Victoria includes interesting facts about our nearest wild relative, the chimpanzee, along with recipes for some surprisingly tasty drink made from things like kale and watermelons! You can also view her website: www.rawfamily.com. Many of my clients have found the green smoothies a great way to add nutrition to their busy lives.
